Driving requires your full attention

General News

Many drivers today tend to view driving, especially in familiar environments, as a simple everyday task that requires minimal attention. In fact, driving is a task that requires your full attention every time you get behind the wheel. At the very least you are:

  • Operating a heavy piece of machinery at hight speed
  • Navigating across changing territory
  • Calculating speeds and distances
  • Responding to other drivers, signs signals and obstacles around you.

Reduce Your Risks

  • Always wear your seat belt.
  • Be aware of traffic around you by looking ahead, behind and from side to side and make sure other road users see you and they know what you are doing.
  • Kepp a safe distance from other vehciles.
  • Check your mirrors and find your blind spots - and don't drive in other driver's blind spots
  • don't make sudden lane changes, use your signals.
