Advocacy for Policy Reforms

TRAX has been a leading voice in advancing road safety policy reforms in India, working closely with government agencies, policymakers, enforcement authorities, industry stakeholders, and civil society organizations. Our advocacy efforts focus on strengthening legislation, improving safety standards, protecting vulnerable road users, and promoting evidence-based road safety policies that save lives.

Child Restraints for Two-Wheelers

TRAX has actively advocated for stronger safety regulations for child passengers on two-wheelers, including the use of child restraint systems, safety harnesses, and protective equipment. Our efforts have contributed to raising awareness and supporting policy discussions aimed at improving child safety on Indian roads.

Safe School Zone Speed Limits

Recognizing the vulnerability of children in school environments, TRAX successfully advocated with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) for the adoption of 25 km/h speed limits around school zones. This initiative supports safer school environments and helps reduce the risk of child road traffic injuries and fatalities.

Helmet India: A Fight Against Fake and Substandard Helmets

Through the Helmet India Coalition, TRAX has led one of India’s most impactful helmet safety advocacy movements. Our efforts have focused on promoting BIS-certified helmets, implementing Rule 138(4)(f) of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, strengthening helmet standards, eliminating fake helmets from the market, and improving helmet safety compliance nationwide. The coalition today connects 35+ organizations working together to save lives through better helmet safety.

180-Degree Visibility Advocacy

TRAX advocates for safer road infrastructure and vehicle design that improves visibility for all road users, particularly pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Through awareness campaigns, stakeholder consultations, and technical recommendations, we promote road design solutions that reduce blind spots, improve sight distance, and enhance intersection safety.

Media Content Regulation Program

TRAX works with media organizations, broadcasters, digital platforms, and content creators to encourage responsible portrayal of road user behaviour. Our advocacy promotes road safety-sensitive media content, discourages unsafe driving depictions, and supports the inclusion of life-saving road safety messages across traditional and digital media platforms.

Driving Systemic Change

Beyond these initiatives, TRAX continues to advocate for safer vehicles, safer infrastructure, stronger enforcement, child road safety, vulnerable road user protection, post-crash care improvements, and evidence-based road safety legislation. Through continuous engagement with policymakers and stakeholders, we strive to create lasting policy reforms that contribute to safer roads and fewer road traffic fatalities across India.

Advocating Policies. Influencing Change. Saving Lives on Roads.
